I found the internet a wonderful source of health information when I was pregnant. I use it even now. You can find information about pregnancy, feeding, sleeping, raising your children or general health issues.
Remember to be cautious - much of the information is someone else’s views and/or experiences, and may not be factual or right for you. If you are not sure, speak with a trusted health professional for advice. Sites by professional groups can provide excellent and specific information. Look at the Australian Breastfeeding Association (www.breastfeeding.asn.au), Women’s Health Advisory Service (www.whas.com.au), Beyond Blue (www.beyondblue.org.au), and Women’s Health Qld Wide (www.womhealth.org.au). Websites providing more general information are Essential Baby (www.essentialbaby.com.au), Birth (www.birth.com.au/), The Bub Hub (www.bubhub.com.au/), Belly Belly (www.bellybelly.com.au/), and BabyCenter (www.babycenter.com.au/).
The CABOOLTURE mums & little ones website (www.mumsandlittleones.com) has lots of information from local and statewide experts about being a mum, healthy food choices, exercise during and after pregnancy, breastfeeding, gaining and losing weight, and healthcare services. There is also a discussion forum where you can ask questions and share information with other mums in your community.
